Verbatim extracts of CARPENTER entries from LDS-microfilmed vital records of Norfolk, Norfolk, Massachusetts.
There were only three instances of the name CARPENTER, all births. One baby had parents who were born in England; the other two (my relatives) are here. I believe the "S" and "L" conditions are "single" (i.e., not multiple births) and "live" -- maybe "legitimate."
