Margaret Doherty obit
HUNTINGTON

Margaret, 57, wife of Patrick Dougherty, was burned to death sometime Wednesday night or early on the following morning, at her house on Basket street, presumedly from the overturning or explosion of a kerosene lamp. The body was found badly charred early Thanksgiving morning lying on the kitchen floor, by her husband, who had been sleeping in an adjoining room, and who claims that he was awakened by the smell of smoke, and upon entering the kitchen discovered the body of his dead wife. Medical Examiner Winslow of Easthampton was at once telegraphed for and soon responded in person, and upon a view of the body and an examination of witnesses, came to the conclusion that it was a case of accidental death.
